For quite a few years now I’ve thought about running a marathon. The problem is, it’s a little bit terrifying, lol. Last year my family and I went down to cheer on my sister-in-law as she ran the Chicago marathon and I was completely taken by it. The runners, the supporters, the city, the vibe-it was so awesome!
To back track a bit, Turning Point has a long standing relationship with the MDA (the Muscular Dystrophy Association). We shoot multiple projects for them annually and every year I get the opportunity to go hang out at the MDA Summer Camp and film a little bit to cut together a video scrapbook for the kids to take home with them. The camp is such an amazing place where these children get to visit old friends, swim in a pool, shoot a bow and arrow, gather round a bonfire, go fishing and prank the holy living crap out each other. I am speechless at witnessing the selflessness of the counselors, staff and volunteers. There is nothing like seeing the smile on a child’s face and it means so much more when you get a glimpse of the things these kids have to deal with on the regular. Better still, the MDA can send these kids to camp for FREE because of donations from people like you.
The last 2 years we have shot promotional spots like this one for the MDA’s Team Momentum. In doing so, I have met some of the most incredible people and heard some of the most heartbreaking and inspiring stories ever. It is in honor of all these people who have affected my life that I am joining with Team Momentum and running the Chicago Marathon to help raise money for research and to fight to find a cure for muscle disease.
I am asking for your help to achieve our goal of $2500. I’ll run the marathon, all you have to do is donate! Click here for my personal MDA Team Momentum page. No amount is too small and with enough people, we can make a difference! Thank you so much.
